The Cornish Association Records are now held at the CHSI in Castlemaine under a Memorandum of understanding

These records include a range of material on all subjects relating to Cornwall and the Cornish diaspora.  It has been described as one of the best Cornish libraries outside Cornwall.
There are two main sections –

1.  Genealogical records and family history materials:

•    Cornwall Parish records – Baptisms,  Marriages,  Burials,  Monumental Inscriptions, etc
•    Cornwall indexes – Various periods generally mid 1800’s to early 1900’s including pre-Registration (1837)

•    Cornwall Census  1841,  1851,  1861,  1871,  1881, 1891 – mostly also available on the computer network in searchable pdf files
•    International Genealogical Index for Cornwall
•    Devon Census  1841,  1861,  1881
•    All other British Counties Census 1881
•    Methodist Records 1837-1900 for all of Cornwall
•    Wills and Probates for several parishes
•    ‘Bawden’ Transcripts – Parish records to the mid 1800’s
•    Gazetteers and Directories
•    Supportive information – Family and local histories covering the Camborne-Gwennap & St Just in Penwith regions in Red & Blue folders
